This is something that gets asked a lot.
I usually have a really hard time explaining it to people without giving away too much detail about the story or much worse...spoilers (Nobody likes spoilers, right?)
Usually I fire off a string of adjectives to people in relation to the story, but I want to try and narrow it down a bit for everyone so they can really see if it's their cup of tea. (or flask of whiskey, in my case.)

The Genre
667: Children of the Beast is serialized sci-fi/dark fantasy fiction, similar to the old Penny Dreadfuls or Dime novels. It is written in issues that range from 6,000-30,000 words (some issues are more and that is when you get the DOUBLE ISSUE).
If I had unlimited tags when publishing, this series would be all over the place as far as genres. That is what we call "Cross-genre." (Or "The Author can't just pick one.")
I label it primarily as Sci-fi/Occult & Supernatural, but it could be under Action, Drama, Mystery, Thriller, Dystopian, New Adult, Adult...it fits all of these categories.
This IS an adult series. There is a fair amount of cussing (I'm being humble here) and some other adult themes.
I wrote it as more of a dramatic TV show in my head than your regular novel/novellas. This is why I decided to serialize because the story line could go on--forever...and it probably will.

The Story Line
The story line--aaah, the story line. This is where I start to get tongue tied and it ends with, "You should really just read it."
While that may be the best way to get exactly what I am trying to say, I am going to attempt to break it down a bit.
667 was something that came up in conversation with my husband as just a little idea that he thought would be cool to see as a TV show/movie. I ran with that little idea and came up with the name "667: Children of the Beast." and the subsequent story line.
It mainly surrounds two main characters, Violet and Adam, who happen to meet by chance and not under the best circumstances. From there, their destiny unfolds as they hit their 30th birthday and have to make the choice on whether or not to embrace the "changes" that have come with leaving their 20s, or let it overcome them. From there they meet others like them, others with the same exact birthday and similar supernatural abilities. They embark on a journey to discover who made them this way and struggle with the idea of accepting their new bodies, responsibilities, and doing good, or rejecting any sort of moral code and becoming the villains.
The series is all about choices and the fact that we have the ability to make our own, regardless of what is fed to us through the media, politics, religion, etc. We have the ability to think for ourselves and choose the right path that will not just benefit us, but all of humanity. We could possibly save the world from all the damage that has been done and that is what fuels these characters; they have the ability to correct all the atrocities that have occurred since the dawn of time, by simply choosing not to let it go on any longer.
667 has magick, mystery, religion, politics, action, science, rewritten history, romance, betrayal...all in first person dialogue from different characters points of view.
I really wanted readers to get into the mind of average people that have now been bestowed with unnatural abilities and how they deal with the change and where it takes them.
I am sure that everyone can connect with at least ONE of the characters that I introduce as this massive story line unfolds and that was always my hope...
